Does research support the benefits of acupuncture for stroke patients?

Recovery following a stroke can be a challenging process with post-stroke motor aphasia, or language function impairment as a common limitation.

New research findings suggest stroke patients who received acupuncture significantly improved language function and more!

The study divided 252 adult patients with post-stroke (ischemic stroke) motor aphasia into 2 groups, 1 group received 6 weeks of acupuncture, with up to 6 months of follow-up and the second group received sham acupuncture.

This research concluded the acupuncture group significantly improved language function, quality of life, and neurological impairment compared with the sham acupuncture group.

Healthcare continues evolving to less-invasive, natural, and drug-free methods, placing acupuncture as a first-line complementary healthcare choice.

And remember, the American Acupuncture Council Network is the expert with over 3 decades of experience dealing with a wide range of acupuncture billing issues.
